Match against the London Fire Department
To finish our Fire Services Tour in 2021, we played our first match against the London Fire Brigade’s Football Team, with some of the players in the team in the Red Watch, the team of firefighters sent to tackle the blaze on the night of 14th June 2021.
With survivors in the team and firefighters that were there on the night, it was a very emotional day, and was covered by all of the major TV news channels.
After a hard fought match, Grenfell Athletic just managed to win with a late penalty giving us a 2-1 victory. We have now made the match against the London Fire Brigade an annual event
